Lesson 1, Topic 1
In Progress

Conclusion

In our age of so many loud and fervent voices can we find a single, clear note of truth that truly resonates with us? Does it even matter what we believe about our world? Is there something out there that is true whether we believe it or not? The Bible gives us a magnificent history of people asking exactly these kinds of questions. They got answers.

Forward: The Bible tells of great hope from the distant past resulting in the life of Jesus Christ.

Downward: The Bible tells us of the most amazing event in history – the birth of Jesus.

Inward: The Bible tells us what it cost Jesus to be who He was and do what He did for us.

Memory Verses

1) Mark 1:14-15 – Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

2) Micah 5:2 – But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.

3) Isaiah 55:8-9 – For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

4) Romans 3:10-12 – … as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.

5) Romans 3:23 – … for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

6) John 1:1,14 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

7) John 10:11,17-18 – I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep…. I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.

8) Isaiah 53:5-6 – But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement [punishment] that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity [wrongdoing] of us all.

9) Hebrews 2:14-15 – Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.
